Hello! I’m Beth. I have been a registered nurse since 2008, with backgrounds in critical care and pediatrics. I am the mother to 4 amazing children; Drew, Carson, Garrett, and Bryn.

With having 4 children, I have had many different experiences during my pregnancies, each birth was different, and they all followed very different paths during the postpartum period. Each baby brought about different challenges with feeding and sleep. I had placenta previa with one pregnancy, gestational diabetes with another, and high blood pressure with all 4! They all had dairy intolerance as babies, two struggled with latching to breastfeed, and two breastfed like champs! This really showed me that no two babies are alike, and no two families have the same wants and goals for their children.

I never really felt like I knew exactly what I should or shouldn’t be doing. I would talk with our pediatrician about some of these struggles, but there was never enough time in the office to answer all of my questions. I often left feeling very frustrated, and sometimes even more overwhelmed. Much of the time I was feeling like a failure as a mom- shouldn’t I just know what to do? I had a hard time feeling hopeful that things were ever going to get better.

This often led to me late night scrolling, frequently through tears, on my phone to help me find solutions to the many struggles parenting was bringing about. But, the internet was filled with so much noise! I had no idea how to weed through it all and know what was good advice and what wasn’t.

Feeling like a failure as a mom is not okay, and I never wanted another woman to have to feel that pain. That’s why I became The Mama Coach. I know how it feels to be desperate for answers, and desperate for sleep. I remember so vividly feeling like I was never going to feel rested or like myself ever again. Everything had changed, including my body, and no one was helping me navigate my way through.

I am your resource to help you navigate this crazy world of parenting! I will give you as much time as you need to have your questions answered. I will show you that things will get better, you will successfully feed your baby, you will sleep again, and you will start to feel like yourself again. It truly does take a village to raise a baby. Some villages are bigger than others. I would love to be a part of your village and help you through these most stressful times. Parenting is hard, but with The Mama Coach in your corner, it is much easier! Let’s chat and figure out how I can get you feeling better today!

Frequently Asked Questions

Good question!  We are called The Mama Coach because years ago, when Carrie’s first boy was very small, she often wondered out loud to herself, “Where is my Mama Coach?” and “I need a Mama Coach!”.  Carrie searched and searched for qualified support and realized there was a need for qualified support for new families. We recognize that our name can give the impression that we only serve moms, but we will continue to work and learn to ensure our messaging is clear that all people are welcome here. Parents carry a heavy load, and do it with grace.  All parents deserve support, and The Mama Coach is the answer you’ve been searching for.

We do not just support moms — we help ALL people.  All are welcome here, and we are committed to providing you with quality support, no matter your gender or family dynamic.  As we learned in nursing school, your family is who YOU say they are.

We get asked this one all the time.  As Registered Nurses, having merely one method does not align with how we were trained in college to utilize the nursing process.

The Nursing Process is defined as, a “systematic approach to care using the fundamental principles of critical thinking, client-centered approaches to treatment, goal-oriented tasks, evidence-based practice (EBP) recommendations, and nursing intuition.  Holistic and scientific postulates are integrated to provide the basis for compassionate, quality-based care” (*1).

Simply put, we will assess your child using our nursing training to determine the best way to help your family reach their goals, walking beside you all the way.  You can choose us with confidence, knowing you have picked the most qualified resource to support your family’s journey.

Yes.  As Registered Nurses, we have years of training on where to access credible guidelines and information. All of our programming is based on extensive research from credible sources.

As Registered Nurses, it is our professional obligation to manage client records and confidential information properly.  We use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that is compliant throughout North America.  Even though we share the same brand, we are all independent Registered Nurses with our own private practices. As such, we each have our own EMR that is private and secure. We do not share EMR or client information between one another without consent.

Often they are — the answer largely depends on where you live and what your private insurance covers.  For example, in Canada, our services are covered under ‘Lactation’, ‘Registered Nurse Services’ or ‘Health Spending Accounts’.  In the United States our services can be covered as well, through HSA or FSAs.  Reach out to me for more information.
